Best Trail Running Shoes for Women

Going off piste in the running world?

Fancy getting away from the tarmac and well trodden paths?

Wanting to get out in the fields, hills come rain, snow or sun?

Time to get a pair of trail running shoes to make it more enjoyable, keep those feet nice and dry, and give you more traction on the slippery wetness underfoot.

Off road running shoes can really come in handy on those days when you want to be out running but the weather is hurling it down.

Of course they're great running gear when the sun is shining too, they are great for feeling confident in your stride.

So, below I'll give my top picks of the best trail shoes out there if you're looking to buy running shoes this month.

You can also have a look at the Vibram Five Fingers Shoes for barefoot running and if you really want to take on a challenge with your pet dog then how about getting a dog running harness.

Asics Running Shoes for Trail Running

Of course Asics shoes would be in this listing. They make great running shoes and the Asics GT 2150 trail shoes perform really well also.

These trail shoes are adequate to provide cushioning running shoes and have stability with great upper body protection. They've got water resistant mesh on the body and a nice amount of toe protection if on bad, stony ground.

These Asics trainers are also  pretty great running gear in cool gray and lime green. I'll always go for the Asics running shoes or the Salomon running shoes, in fact which ever make it is I'm just always gonna choose women's specific. Companies invest money and time into researching our body’s needs whilst training. Female’s footfall and stride differ from that of men and I can only imagine that if you're out there training relentlessly on your feet you want something specifically designed with you in mind, so it's time to choose women's specific running shoes.

Adidas Kanadia- Top Rated Running Shoes

These are a great low profile sports shoe and make a great off road running shoe, so they are really fab to keep the foot low to the ground to help avoid keeling over to the side whilst running on slippy uneven surfaces.

The tread on the Adidas Kanadia is great too, nice and indented to provide good traction out there on the trails. They've got air mesh on the upper which is an Adidas technology to help keep your feet cool and to allow the shoe to dry quickly.

Even though these are trail running shoes they would be perfectly fine for running a few miles on tarmac so that you can get to your main running tracks.

Also I should point out that the sizing does come up a little small on the Adidas Kanadia and it would no doubt be worth buying a half size up from your normal trainer size.

Adidas Kanadia 2 Trail Shoes

Wow! So they've taken the Adidas Kanadia 2 and updated with a hot color scheme!

I'm liking these and I loved the old ones in magenta and the blue.

Please read above for my posting about these fabulous trail runner shoes ...still fab just great coloring!

Womens Salomon XT Wings Trail Running Shoes

These are another great make that do off road running shoes, really comfy and very protective on the toe in case you manage to kick rocks on the way down a slope.

(Believe me, I've done it in a normal pair of trainers and I had black tip to the end of my big toe for a while).

The Salomon XT Wings have a quick fit lacing system so no more worrying about laces coming loose and struggling to retie them with cold wet hands.

A really good design on these cushioned running shoes and look great in a really fab range of colors.

I think I could have had about four pairs of these because of the color ways.

Salomon running apparel is great too and you should also take a look at heart rate monitors for improving your performance.
