Heart Rate Monitors

If you are making the point of training to loose weight or just get fitter then there is no point doing it the hard way with unstructured training that is not using your time efficiently or wisely. Training the old fashioned way, or without a heart rate monitor can mean that you are not targeting your sessions enough to burn calories in an optimal way.

By including the HRM in to your training plan you can maximise goals and become fitter much quicker. Your heart rate is the only true way to judge what actual zone you are training in and it is pretty hard to judge that zone without having this little bit of kit.

You can buy heart rate monitors for varying prices but they are not all expensive and by having one and using it each time you train you can be confident that you have science on your side and will be able to achieve those targets.

Timex Ironman Racer Trainer

The Timex Ironman watch is sleek in design and will be perfectly comfortable underneath your wetsuit.

As with all the models of the Ironman heart rate monitors this is easy to use, has a logical layout that means it’s very easy to see and use whilst on the move.

It may not be the most complex of the heart rate monitors.

But that is really not a bad thing at all because it’s just real nice to have an ease of use and concentrate on your training rather than figuring out how to use an aid.

The Ironman Racer Trainer can store up to 10 training sessions which consists of 50 laps each and it is equipped with different timers for doing interval training and a simple HRM.

You will need to download a programme to your computer and upload some soft where but this is very straight forward.

In fact the most tasking thing will be doing the training itself.

Oregon Vibra Trainer

The Oregon Vibra Trainer heart rate monitor is for those of us with health and fitness goals rather than the serious athlete; be that as it may it’s a good performing piece of kit that has some very well designed functions.

The Oregon heart rate monitor has both real time average and maximum heart rate readings and real time calorie and fat burning percentages.

As well as the alarm for making you aware to keep within your heart rate zone there is a vibration alarm also. This is a nifty little design feature that means if your in a noisy environment such as whilst bike training on a road you’ll still be kept aware of your alarms.

Another feature that is very good is the dual transmission chest strap that has a digital signal that links up with the monitor and an analogue one for gym equipment.

Suunto T1C

The Suunto T1C Heart Rate Monitor is a really nice looking heart rate monitor.

It has large numbers and is laid out very well with its metrics that are easily understandable.

You can scroll through the menu easily leaving you all the time you need for your training.

The Suunto heart rate monitor stores two months worth of training performances which means it’s an ideal way to keep track of your performance over time.

This monitor also presents your average heart rate broken down over splits as well as heart rate zones and calorie counts for each session. .
